Shaped by Movement

Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc — New Zealand

ABOUT US

Shaped by Movement

Some wines are made. Others are formed — shaped by the forces of a landscape that refuses to be still. Driftstone is the latter. Its name evokes what happens when stone meets water over centuries: edges worn smooth, surfaces polished, character revealed through constant motion.

Inspired by the elemental forces of Marlborough — the tension between cool Pacific water and sun-baked earth, between mountain altitude and coastal flatlands — Driftstone is a wine of energy and clarity. It captures that sense of perpetual movement that defines New Zealand's most celebrated wine region.

Confident and unfussy, Driftstone is a contemporary New Zealand Sauvignon Blanc designed for today's global drinker. There is no ceremony required. No occasion too small, no glass too casual. Driftstone is made to be chosen with ease, opened with pleasure and enjoyed to the last drop.

Modern in expression, honest in character. This is Marlborough at its most vibrant and approachable — a wine that invites you in, rather than asking you to wait.

“Confident, refined and effortlessly drinkable.”

TERROIR

Born from Marlborough

Marlborough, on New Zealand’s South Island, has earned its place as one of the Southern Hemisphere’s great wine regions — and nowhere else in the world produces Sauvignon Blanc quite like this. The combination of geography, climate and soil is singular, and the results speak for themselves.

The region’s broad valley floor is threaded with ancient river systems that have deposited layer upon layer of stony, free-draining soils. These rocky substrates are the engine room of Driftstone: they reflect heat upward during the day, accelerate drainage to keep vines naturally stressed, and impart a distinct mineral freshness that lifts every glass.

Long hours of New Zealand sunshine build ripe, generous fruit. Cool nights — often dropping sharply after sunset — preserve acidity and lock in the bright aromatic compounds that make Marlborough Sauvignon Blanc so expressive and vivid. The result is a wine of precision: every element in balance, nothing out of place.

Driftstone does not interpret Marlborough — it channels it directly. Stone, water, light and movement, captured in every bottle.

THE WINE

Sauvignon Blanc 2025

New Zealand vineyard with rows of green vines stretching across hills, mountains in the background, and a blue sky with a few clouds.

Driftstone’s 2025 Sauvignon Blanc announces itself with a burst of energy. The nose is fresh and expressive: lifted aromas of citrus zest — lime and lemon pith — intertwined with ripe white peach and a whisper of subtle herbal notes that speak of cool mornings and sun-drenched afternoons in the vineyard.

On the palate, the wine delivers exactly what the nose promises. Bright, focused and driven by clean acidity, it has a mineral quality — something stony and precise — that anchors the fruit and keeps everything in sharp relief. The texture is light and refreshing, with no unnecessary weight, building to a finish that is crisp, clean and satisfying.

This is a modern Sauvignon Blanc in the truest sense: balanced without being neutral, expressive without being loud. It is highly approachable, immediately enjoyable and endlessly versatile — a wine built for the rhythm of everyday life, without ever compromising on quality.

Grilled fish, prawns with chilli and lime, fish tacos, fresh sushi — Driftstone loves the ocean as much as Marlborough does. It also shines alongside summer salads, fresh herbs, ripe tomatoes and anything with a little brightness and bite. Equally at home at a casual weeknight dinner or a long Sunday lunch.
